Hi, I’m Soumyadip Chatterjee, the face behind AsianPlated.com.

Food has always been more than just fuel for me — it’s been a connection to culture, a form of expression, and honestly, my favorite way to explore the world without ever leaving the kitchen.

I grew up in India, where meals weren’t just about eating — they were an experience. Whether it was watching my mother stir spicy curries in a bubbling pot or sitting around the table sharing stories over bowls of noodles, I learned early on that food brings people together in the most powerful ways.

But it wasn’t until I started cooking for myself — experimenting with flavors from Japan, Korea, Thailand, and beyond — that I realized just how deep and diverse Asian cuisine really is. Each dish told a story. Each spice carried tradition. And the more I cooked, the more I felt the urge to document it.

That’s how AsianPlated was born — a place where I share my love for all things Asian food. From comforting Chinese stir-fries to vibrant Filipino feasts, I wanted to build a space where anyone — whether you’re a seasoned cook or a curious beginner — could explore these flavors and make them your own.

He’s the reason our soup look so warm and inviting, our pastas so glossy and crave-worthy, and our beef dishes so perfectly cooked you can almost taste them through the screen. Paul believes that good food deserves to look as incredible as it tastes, and he’s dedicated to capturing every delicious detail.
Beyond the camera, Paul is also our go-to plating expert and lighting wizard. He knows how to make any dish look like it belongs on the cover of a cookbook—and he’s always ready to grab the first forkful after the shoot (for “quality assurance,” of course).
